TKU was the first university in Taiwan to employ the system of Total Quality Management (TQM), introduced into the university in 1992 by the founder, Dr. Clement C. P. Chang. This management model has increased the quality of teaching, research, and service at TKU.

For 25 consecutive years, TKU graduates have been voted as "Top 2000 Enterprises' Favorites College Graduates" in a survey conducted by Cheers Business Magazine. There are “nine essential qualities” identified by the survey, including:

TKU has been continually improving its status as a work-safe and student-friendly campus. It has conducted a thorough review of its performance in this area based on the seven indicators listed in the Safe School Criteria.

"AI + SDGS = ∞", the medium to long-term development vision of our university, has been certified as a registered trademark by the Ministry of Economic Affairs Intellectual Property Office on February 7, 2023.

  1. The first university in Taiwan to allow students to appraise teacher performance.
  2. The first university in Taiwan to implement a Junior Year Abroad (JYA) program.
    Adopts a "3-All Policy" in Lanyang Campus:(1) All third-year students spend a compulsory study abroad; (2) All students gain complete exposure to English-based instruction; (3) All students experience a residential college atmosphere.
  3. The first university to establish "Panda Lecture Series". Dr. Clement Chang, the founder of Tamkang University, and his wife Carrie have established an endowment fund for the purpose of inviting international masters and elites to give lectures in the school to enhance the school's academic standard and reputation.
  4. The first university in Taiwan to offer compulsory extracurricular courses.

  1. In the survey of "2023 Taiwan's Best Universities" by Global Views Monthly magazine, our university has once again secured the top position among private universities in the "Humanities and Social Sciences University" category and ranks third nationally.
  2. In the 2023 U.S. News & World Report Global Best Universities Rankings, we are honored to achieve the 15th position nationally and become the top non-medical private university in the country.
  3. In the latest October 2022 release of the "World's Top 2% Scientists" list, our university proudly had a total of 28 faculty members, students, and alumni included, ranking as the top non-medical private university in the country.
  4. In the 2023 Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, we are honored to achieve the 13th position nationally and become the top non-medical private university in the country.
  5. Tamkang’s Counselling Career Development and Learning Center was awarded by Taiwan and Counselling Association (TGCA) as the “School of Excellence in Counseling Performance 2022" for its excellent performance in school counseling practice and endeavor.
  6. On January 6th, 2009, TKU was the first academic institution in the world to be certified as complying with the standards of the IT Service Management System-ISO/IEC 20000-1: 2005.
  7. In 2009, TKU received an award for Excellence in Physical Education from the MOE, and it is the only university in Taiwan to have received this honor. In 2013, 2016 and 2020, TKU received the award again.
  8. In 2011, 2012 and 2013, TKU received the R.O.C. Enterprises Environmental Award and received the prestigious EPA Environmental Award.
  9. In September 2013, TKU received the 2013 Friendly Campus Award from the MOE, the only university in Taiwan to win the prize.
  10. TKU won an excellent rating from the MOE for guidance in the quality of internationalization among institutions of higher education.
