TKU continuously promote the key tasks of “digital transformation” and “sustainable development”, plan to cultivate students' interdisciplinary competence in “AI and sustainability,” use AI as the primary tool for digital transformation, and accelerate the realization of SDGs. This includes establishing the College of Precision Healthcare, launching the College of Win Semiconductor Manufacturing, upgrading the Cloud Campus 2.0, implementing the New East Village and Future Hall long-term projects, establishing a cloud-based PBX system, constructing a campus safety and energy-saving network, and continuously commissioning the installation of solar photovoltaic systems by SINBON Electronics in both Taipei and Lanyang campuses. This aims to enhance students' employability in the future AI sustainability era. We are committed to equipping all faculty and staff with AI knowledge and encouraging the integration of AI into various fields to achieve SDGs, nurturing sustainable interdisciplinary talents.
Furthermore, through strategic alliances with Microsoft Taiwan and Far EasTone Telecommunications, we are building a fully cloud-based intelligent campus 2.0. We are implementing MS 3AP and 5G/B5G campus agile communication, integrating Microsoft cloud tools, and utilizing human intelligence and AOAI ChatGPT artificial intelligence technology for human-machine collaboration, developing the automated process to enhance administrative efficiency and realize concrete actions and benefits in support of sustainability.
The specific achievements are as follows:
- In 2023, TKU ranked globally between 201st and 300th in the Times Higher Education World University Impact Rankings. In three SDGs, the university ranked in the top 100 globally: 59th in SDG4; 27th in SDG6; and 25th in SDG7.
- In 2022, the university won the gold medal of Energy Saving Leadership Award of Ministry of Economic Affairs.
- In 2022, it received the gold medal of the inaugural Asia-Pacific Sustainable Action Award (APSAA).
- The "2021 Sustainability Report" received the Gold Award of Taiwan Corporate Sustainable Award (TCSA).
